01 · WHY A WEBSITE
§ 01 / 06
Why a website, in plain terms.
Google's own research says 76 percent of people who search for a nearby business on their phone visit one within a day.
- Google reads your site to learn what you do
- When someone types your trade and your town into Google, it reads whatever website you have to figure out what you do. No site, and it has nothing of yours to read.
- People check before they call
- In a 2026 BrightLocal survey, the top reason people picked a business was clear, complete information: hours, address, phone. It beat reviews and beat how close the business was. Your site is where that information lives.
- It answers while you are on a job
- Someone searching at 9 pm finds your services, your reviews, and a form that reaches your inbox. You call them back in the morning with the details already in hand.
02 · HOW IT WORKS
§ 02 / 06
Three steps. The first two are free.
Nothing is charged until the site exists and you have read every word.
01
Answer a few questions
Your business name, phone, town, the services you do, and a few sentences in your own words. About five minutes. Would rather talk it through? Book a call and do it with Jakob.
02
Read your finished site
It opens in your browser a couple of minutes later. Change the words, the colors, and the photos yourself, as many times as you like.
03
Keep it if you like it
Choose how to pay once you have seen the site. Own it outright, or have Jakob host it and keep it current.
03 · WHAT YOU GET
§ 03 / 06
What every site includes.
- Four pages
- Home, services, about, and contact, written from what your business does. Restaurants get a menu page in place of services.
- Your real reviews
- When your Google listing has reviews, they go on the site in the customer's own words. Nothing invented.
- Your phone number, pinned
- It stays at the top of every page. The contact form asks for the service and a good time to reach them.
- Built for phones first
- Most people will find you on a phone. Every page is laid out for a thumb before it is laid out for a desk.
- A look you choose
- Pick a design that fits your trade, switch it whenever you like, and keep every word you have written.
- Ready for Google and AI search
- Every page carries the labels Google, ChatGPT, and other AI assistants read to understand a business: what you do, where you work, how to reach you. Both ways of paying include this.
04 · TWO WAYS TO KEEP IT
§ 04 / 06
Two ways to keep it.
Pay 850 dollars once and the site, domain, and hosting go into your name. Or take the Care plan at 149 dollars a month and Jakob hosts it, updates it, and keeps it current for search. Same site either way.
Book a call to talk through either one05 · WHERE TO START
§ 05 / 06
Two ways to start, both free.
Free profile scan
Scan my Google listing
Give us your business name and city, or paste your Google Maps link. You get a scored report of what your listing shows the public: categories, hours, photos, your review pattern, and whether your website link works. Each item comes with a plain-English fix.
The scan reads only what anyone can see from outside your account. One search result is one snapshot, not a ranking.
Self-serve builder
Build my site
Five minutes of questions, then the finished pages open in the editor with the whole site in front of you.
Nothing is charged in the builder and there is no account to create.
06 · QUESTIONS
§ 06 / 06
Questions people ask first.
How long does it take?
About five minutes to answer the questions. The pages appear a couple of minutes after you press build.
What does it cost?
850 dollars once, or 149 dollars a month on the Care plan with a twelve month start. Same site both ways. Book a call and Jakob walks you through both.
What do I get?
Four pages built from your details and your Google listing, your reviews when you have them, your phone number on every page, a contact form, and a design you can change yourself. The Care plan adds hosting, a monthly update, and monthly search upkeep.
Who owns the site?
You do. On the pay-once option it is yours the moment the handover finishes. On the Care plan, Kempema Design holds it while you pay and it moves into your name after the twelfth payment, or sooner if you buy out.
Can I change things later?
Yes. You edit the whole site before you pay. Pay-once customers get two more rounds of changes in the first 14 days, then the editor is theirs. Care plan customers send one round of changes a month by email.
What if I have no Google reviews yet?
The site is built without a reviews section and says nothing about reviews. When they arrive, Care plan sites get them added at the next update. Pay-once customers add them in the editor.
Do I need a Google Business Profile?
No. The builder works from what you type. A listing helps because the site can pull your reviews, hours, and photos from it, and the free scan tells you what to fix on it.
What if I change my mind?
You read and edit every word before any money moves, so most people know before they pay. Care plan customers can leave early under the Care plan terms and keep the site.
Who builds it?
Jakob Kempema, the one person behind Kempema Design. Seven years at a marketing agency on sites for companies like Verizon and Adobe, then three years at Toast and Square with restaurant, retail, and service owners. Email jakob@kempemadesign.co or call (801) 699-8886 and you reach him.
Not sure a website is worth it for your business?
Book a 30 minute call and ask Jakob anything before you spend a dollar.
